WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and the City of Salem to help hand pull aquatic invasive species Ludwigia (water-primrose), Myriophyllum aquaticum (parrotfeather), and more in the Willamette Slough, adjacent to Minto Brown Island Park.
These aquatic weeds continue to degrade fish and wildlife habitat in our rivers, and have negative impacts on our native vegetation, water quality, and the overall watershed health.
WHEN: Friday, October 2, 2026 from 9:00am - 3:00pm
WHERE: We will meet at Salem’s Riverfront City Park parking lot (near the Willamette Queen Sternwheeler) and get folks checked in. This event is all about community building, education, pulling aquatic weeds, and enjoying this beautiful slough in the heart of Salem. We will be getting our hands dirty so be prepared!
Reserve a seat in one of our canoes or bring your own boat.
