CEI Hub Rally and Public Hearing

December 16th, 3pm @ 1900 SW 4th Ave, Portland

Thank you to all those who made your voices heard over the past month – over 850 written comments were submitted to the Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability in response to the CEI Hub Policy Project Discussion Draft. As a result of this broad public outcry, BPS decided to move forward with their most progressive proposal (alternative #4) and added in additional stipulations to reflect the demands of community members. The Planning Commission will host a public hearing on the updated Proposed Draft on December 16th, and we must continue to make it clear that the local community is serious about drawing down toxic fuel storage at the CEI Hub.

In advance of the public hearing, community members, environmental advocates, and local residents from a diversity of advocacy groups and neighborhoods will gather for a rally and celebration of our shared commitment to this issue. We will share hot drinks and snacks, listen to several speakers with expert knowledge on the topic, and sing climate carols! We will then attend the hearing as a group, where many of us will share verbal testimony on the issue. A more in depth summary of the topic and suggested talking points for testimony can be found in this document.
