Join Opal Creek and Willamette Riverkeeper this summer for a four-day youth expedition on the Willamette River. Canoe down a beautiful stretch of the river while learning the essentials of multi-day water travel with our experienced guides. This scenic section is known for its calm, flat water, great swimming, and excellent birdwatching, with plenty of sandbars perfect for camping. The Willamette is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including chinook salmon, steelhead trout, beavers, otters, osprey, and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore our local waterways, learn about conservation efforts, and build lasting friendships.
Registration is open for 10 youth participants with scholarships available (please see links below). Itineraries and participant expectations will be emailed upon registration.
For any questions, please email WRK event coordinator Theresa Tran at [email protected].
